Mrs. Velma Angus Stormes, 92, of Knobel, AR., passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at
Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Stormes was born August 29, 1920. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed working puzzle books, reading, sewing and cooking. She was Pentecostal in faith.
She married her husband Jerold Stormes on June 28, 1940. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1997.
She is survived by three sons Darrell Stormes of Corning, AR., Denny Stormes and wife Rita of Paragould, AR., Billy Stormes of Knobel, AR.; three daughters
Jeroline Smith of Leachville, AR., Velma Summers of Lafe AR., Suzie and husband Clay Stroud of O’kean, AR.; twenty six grandchildren; several great and
great-great-grandchilden.
Preceded in death by her husband; her parents George Washington and Agness (Forbs) Smotherman; one son Junior Ray Stormes; two son-in-laws Ray Smith, Jackie Summers, daughter-in-law Margie Stormes and sister Irene Maple.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Marlin Ray officiating. Burial will follow the services in Bond Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Visitation will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
