Verna Mae Hopkins

Mrs. Verna Mae Hopkins, 82, of McDougal, AR., passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at home. Mrs. Hopkins was born in McDougal, AR., on October 9, 1935. She had worked previously as an assembler for Brown Shoe Company and Wise Company. She enjoyed sewing, bird watching, and attending church. She was a member of New Life Christian Center in Rector, AR.

Survivors include husband Eugene Hopkins of Corning, AR.; Three sons Gary Hopkins of Corning, AR., Franklin Hopkins of Corning, AR., Danny Hopkins of Paragould, AR.; one brother Joe Nettles of Rockford, IL.; one sister Wilma Nettles of Houston, MO.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents Orin and Edna Mae (Potts) Nettles; and seven brothers and sisters Jerry, Carl, Orvil, Lola, Cathlene, Isabel, and Mildred.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Post Oak Cemetery in McDougal, AR., with Reverend Phillip LaRue officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 12:00 PM until departure to cemetery in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
