Mrs. Virgie Mae Hobbs, 65, of Knobel, AR., passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at home. Mrs. Hobbs was born in Datto, AR., on September 11, 1947. She was retired from Emerson Electric Company. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, and spending time with grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.
She married her husband Gary Wayne Hobbs on August 10, 1968. He survives. Other survivors include one son Tim Hobbs and wife Kim of Knobel, AR; one daughter Casey and husband Eric Ahrent of Knobel, AR.; mother Louella (Parker) Seiler of Washington; three brothers Allen Voorhies, Dale Voorhies, Rick Voorhies all of Washington; five sisters Ruth Carlisle, Carol Tweit, TJ Mattingly, Marty Close, Gail Lee all of Washington; four grandchildren Michael Dowdy, Jordan Ahrent, Billy Johnson and wife Juanita, Samantha Johnson; one great-grandson Caden Sweaney.
She was preceded in death by her father Eddie Voorhies; one brother Robert Voohries; grandparents Aaron and Mae Parker.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Songer and Michael Archer officiating. Burial will follow the services in Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers are Rudy Geronimo, Troy Dinkins, Adam Dinkins, Brandon Reed, Thomas Bagwell, Kenny Pitcher; Honorary Pallbearers are Jim and John Mangrum.
