Virgie Mae Jordan

Mrs. Virgie Mae Jordan, 86, of Success, AR passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at home. Mrs. Jordan was born in Pollard, AR on October 14, 1924 the daughter of Charles Franklin and Etta (Hays) Ellis. She was a homemaker, she loved to cook and spend time with family, she was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Success.

She was united in marriage to Jerry F. Jordan on April 28, 1940, they shared 63 years and 8 months together before his death on January 24, 2004.

She was a very proud mother of 14 children, those surviving are Shirley and husband Jerry Reeves of Corning, AR., Jerry Wayne Jordan of Corning, AR., Bill Jordan and wife Laura of Success, AR., Sharolette and husband Sammie Crossen of Harviell, MO., Sandra and husband Louis Hall of Doniphan, MO., Shelia and husband Doug Fowler of Corning, AR,. Keith Jordan and wife Carol of Success, AR,. Kenny Jordan and wife Kay of Parrish, FL., Sharon and husband Allen Rudd of Harrisburg, AR., Lonnie Jordan and wife Laura of Bartow, FL., Sherry and husband Mark McConnaughay of Naylor, MO., Timothy Jordan and wife Linda of Neeleyville, MO., Danny Jordan and wife Amy of Success, AR. She is also survived by one grandson Kendall Jordan whom she raised as her son and three brothers Charles L. Ellis, Ezra N. Ellis, Arthur Ellis, 36 grand-children , 49 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles F. and Etta (Hays) Ellis; husband Jerry F. Jordan; son Ray Dell Jordan, three brothers Julius, Paul and James Ellis and sister Dorothy Thompson.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Mahan officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Kendall Jordan, Jerry Eb Reeves, Timmy Jordan, Bruce Jordan, Scott Crossen, Sam Crossen, Stephan Jordan, Clinton Jordan, Daniel Young, Richard Fowler.
