Virgie Mulligan

Mrs. Virgie Lee (McIntosh) Mulligan, 90, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Mulligan was born in Zeta, MO., on November 23, 1923. She was a retired Registered Nurse (R.N.) from John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. MO., She enjoyed doing research in the nursing field, reading, writing, hunting, fishing and spending time on the beach in Florida. She was a charter member of the Corning Church of the Nazarene.

She married her husband James Lawrence Mulligan on August 21, 1948. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1974.

She is survived by daughter Patricia "Patty" Mulligan Jones of Corning, AR.; granddaughter Dr. Vinessa Kaye Trotter of Murray, UT.; two sisters June Hamilton of Corning, AR., and Lessie Robins of Advance, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Walter Cleveland and Elsie Catherine (Emrah) McIntosh; one brother Reverend John McIntosh; three sisters Silvia Long, Louise Long and Dorothy Christine McIntosh.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Peter Connolly officaiting. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
