Mrs. Virgie Mae Richardson, 87, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at home. Mrs. Richardson was born in Success, AR., she was a homemaker, she was saved at an early age and was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
She married her husband of 68 years Jacob Amos “Jake” Richardson on Nov. 8, 1941 in Corning, AR. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2010.
She is survived by one son Virgil Richardson and wife Mary Lou of Corning, AR., one daughter June and husband James Keel of Corning, AR.; grandchildren Sarah Ann Richardson of Alexander, AR., Dianna Lynn Richardson of Spartanburg, SC., Laura Leigh and husband Bobby Shipman of Jonesboro, AR.; great-grandchildren Rhonda Lynn and husband Josh McKinley of Paragould, AR., Jacob Samuel Simpson of Corning, AR., Bobby Lee Shipman, Anna Katherine Shipman, William Brady Shipman all of Jonesboro, AR.; great-great-grandsons Caleb Joshua and Aaron Elias McKinley; three brothers Elmer VanNada, Delmer VanNada, Wayne VanNada all of Corning, AR.; three sisters Halloween Barks of Kalamazoo, MI., Dolly Rogers of Poplar Bluff, MO., Retha Frye of Coldwater, MI.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband "Jake" Richardson; her parents James Elmer and Mary Elizabeth (Willis) VanNada; one brother Myron VanNada; four sisters Vera VanNada, Lena Pippin, Lorene VanNada, and Nora Duff.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Doug Burch and Mike Chadwick officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
