Viva Nettie Patterson

Mrs. Viva Nettie (Miller) Patterson, 96, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at Corning Therapy and Living Center. Mrs. Patterson was born in Reyno, AR., she was a homemaker, a long time member of the Landmark Extension Homemakers Club, she enjoyed sharing her well renowned cooking talent throughout the Clay County Region, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corning.

She married her husband of sixty-nine years Arvil Houston Patterson, November 16, 1931, he preceded her in death in August 2000.

She is survived by three sons Charles Patterson and wife Peggy of Corning, AR., George Patterson and wife Barbara of Sunrise Beach, MO., Joe Patterson and wife Karla of Madison, MS.; one daughter Nettie Lou Taylor of Corning, AR.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Arvil Patterson; parents Ardie and Bethel (Carter) Miller; one daughter Deanna Lou Patterson; grandson Eric Taylor; son-in-law J.D. "Red" Taylor; five brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Steve Patterson and David Richey officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Public vistation will be held Monday, January 17, 2011 from 10:00 AM until time of service.
