Wanda Hays

Mrs. Wanda Lee Hays, 86, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Hays was born in Randolph County, AR., on August 31, 1931. She was was a retired housekeeper and governess raising children from the Spain, Manatt, Leonard and Goodman families. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and spending time with her family. She was often called the best cook in the south. She was of the Church of Christ faith.

She married her husband of 33 years Mr. Luther Hays on June 26, 1948. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1982.

She is survived by one brother Richard “Bill” Halfacre and wife Linda of Tecumseh, MO.; one sister Doris Holifield of Caulfield, MO.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband; she was also preceded in death by her parents Roy Lee and Media (Alphin) Fry; one sister Lu Mullins and one brother Elmer Halfacre.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Richwoods Cemetery in Corning with Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:00 AM until leaving for the cemetery.
