Mr. William F. Bowers, 77, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. Mr. Bowers was born in Knobel, AR., on January, 31, 1935. He was a retired bridge builder with S. J. Groves Construction Company. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed wood working, fishing and cracking pecans. He was a member of The American Legion, post 643. He was Church of Christ in faith.
He married his wife Nancy (Bresee) Bowers on October 31, 1985. She survives. Other survivors include one son David Bowers and wife Venus of Paragould, AR.; one daughter Myra and husband Dent Burks of Hot Springs, AR.; four grandchildren Steven Bowers, Teresa Gibbons, Matthew and Laura Burks; one great-grandson Jaxon Gibbons.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse E. and Beulah (Bippus) Bowers; three brothers Franklin, Doin and Eugene Bowers.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sunny Williams officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Green County Memorial Gardens in Paragould, AR. Public visitation will be held Monday, April 16, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
