Gary Wayne Hobbs

Gary Wayne Hobbs, 75, of Knobel, AR., passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Hobbs was born April 17, 1947 in Knobel, AR. He worked 40 years at Emerson Electric. He had many hobbies that included fishing, horses, gardening, spending time with his family and his dogs Callie and Maverick. Mr. Hobbs proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

He married the love of his life Virgie Hobbs August 10, 1968. They were married for 44 years.

Survivors include his children Tim (Kim) Hobbs of Knobel, AR., Casey Hobbs of Knobel, AR., sisters; Becky Reed of Corning, AR., Evelyn Clements of Bristol, VA., 4 grandchildren; Michael (Maddie) Dowdy, Billy (Jaunita) Johnson, Jordan Ahrent, and Samantha (Travis) Walton, 5 great grandchildren Caden Sweaney, Pyper Johnson, Ryker Sweaney, Aria Sweaney, Mason Wayne Dowdy, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virgie Hobbs, his parents Clarence and Virginia Trull Hobbs, two brothers; Joe Hobbs and Sam Hobbs.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 at Ermert Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Michael Archer officiating. Burial will follow service at Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR.
