Rick Ermert

Funeral Home Owner

Rick is a second-generation licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, holding licensure in both Arkansas and Missouri. A graduate of Corning High School, he completed his professional education at the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas, graduating in 1979. In addition to his funeral service career, Rick has faithfully served the citizens of Clay County for more than 40 years as a Deputy Coroner, reflecting his long-standing commitment to public service and care for others.

A lifetime resident of Corning, Rick has been deeply involved in the local community throughout his career. He is a past member of the Corning Area Chamber of Commerce and has served on numerous committees and boards supporting community organizations and events. He currently attends First Apostolic Church in Corning, where he serves as a Sunday School teacher.

Rick is married to his wife, Rhonda, and together they have four children and eight grandchildren. Outside of his professional and community commitments, he enjoys fishing, traveling, working around the house, and spending quality time with his family.

Herbert Ellis

Licensed Funeral Director / Embalmer

Herb is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and has been a dedicated member of the Ermert Funeral Home team since June 2006. He earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Funeral Sciences, graduating cum laude from Arkansas State University in Mountain Home in 2007. In addition to his work in funeral service, Herb proudly serves the citizens of Clay County as a Deputy Coroner.

Originally born and raised in Southern California, Herb joined the United States Marine Corps after graduating high school. He relocated to Corning in 1995 and has been an active and committed member of the community ever since. A third-generation minister, Herb pastored the Apostolic Fellowship Church in McDougal for 29 years before retiring from pastoral ministry.

Herb is happily married to his wife, Elaine, and is the proud father of two sons, Travis and Greg, and a grandfather to four grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus’ Grace whenever possible.

Teresa Roofe

Administrative Assistant

Teresa has been a dedicated member of our team since 2006 and serves as our administrative assistant. She is married to her husband, Jeremy, and together they have two sons, Trever and Dustin, as well as four wonderful grandchildren.

A graduate of Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, Teresa earned her A.A.S. degree in Business Administration. Her knowledge and experience make her a tremendous asset to our staff. She provides invaluable support to our Funeral Directors in many aspects of their work, assists families with Burial Association claims, and helps file the necessary paperwork for completing life insurance claims.

Teresa’s professionalism, compassion, and commitment to our families are just a few of the reasons we are so grateful to have her as part of our team.

Zach Griffin

Funeral Assistant

Zach has been a valued member of our funeral home team since the summer of 2010, where he proudly assists our staff in all aspects of funeral service.

A graduate of Corning High School, Zach is happily married to his wife, Kimberly, and together they are raising their two young daughters, Mariliegh and Oliviah.

Outside of work, Zach enjoys gaming and, most of all, cherishing time spent with his family.

Rhonda has been a dedicated member of the funeral home team since 2004.

She is married to her husband, Rick, and together they share a close-knit family of four children and eight grandchildren.

Rhonda is an active member of First Apostolic Church in Corning and values faith, family, and serving others in her community.
